Takes about ten minutes to walk inn to Bournemouth from this hotel so it’s perfect. We stayed for two nights In a family room. Rooms are basic- no tea and coffee in the rooms because of Covid but the staff will make you a tray and you can enjoy in the lounge or your room. We used the swimming pool and gym you just booked your slot the night before. We had a few drinks in the bar one evening, bottle of wine was fine and reasonable. Hotel felt Covid safe and clean. We didn’t have breakfast this time as we were out early exploring but it looked a good set up

My wife and I have stayed at the Elstead many times. The staff are very helpful, polite and cannot do enough for you. The Hotel was very clean and felt covid safe (masks to been worn within the Hotel at all times) The food as usual was first class, especially the breakfast. Our room was clean and tidy. The only gripe we had was that the bed was so uncomfortable (I think it was an original from when the Hotel first opened) neither of us got a good nights sleep. When we were asked in the morning how we slept we mentioned this, and it was relayed to the Manager who gave us some money back and we were told when checking out that our name was on file and when we next booked we would be given a room upgrade ! Neither of us used the leisure facilities this time but the are of a high standard. The Hotel is well placed for all that Bournemouth has to offer.

We found the hotel spotlessly clean. The staff were very helpful and chatty and worked hard. We had booked the bed and breakfast option but they also offered a bar menu in the evening and was reasonably priced. I had the Thai green curry which I found very well made. Social distancing was very well observed but that is also down to the clients taking responsibility. Its about 30 minute walk to the pier in Bournemouth and 5 minutes to the train station. There is parking. The room is comfortable and the bathroom clean although the shower was not the best, but you do compare it to what you have at home. They have a gym, pool and sauna but didn't use so can't comment. I know that you can book a session for an hour with a max limit of 8 people.
